Hi Ben, I'm a coach assistant for U14. I have a player plays as a winger and he usually gets distracted during the game and watching the game instead of playing or movement. (i.e. when he takes corner kicks he usually watch others after attempting kicks and he stuck next to corner flag instead of move into space just in case of a rebound). What tips to minimise the distraction? Thanks

And the thing is, it could just as easily have been about classroom management (I'm a teacher), or any time you need to get the best performance out of a group of humans! Keep it focused, keep it moving, keep it positive. Also, I loved the moment when he said that we want to help form likable people, not just good players. Yes! And if we could only make their parents likable as well😂

Believe you me, I've watched many videos on the half turn but, none of them are as step by step detailed as yours. I'm currently giving my 9 year old boy lessons at home. Thank you very much! Super like and subscribed.

I find a lot of people understand the basic, most common scenario, but don't realize the part about the ball being onside if two players have moved past the opposition. I've seen so many cases (even a coach recently on the MLS, if you can believe it) of people pointing to the last defender when a pass is made to a teammate behind or in line the ball. Anyway, great explanation.

💯 and also true in the US. Boys between the ages of 10 - 14 grow differently. One kid might have a size advantage for a period of time, but they all eventually catch up. The bigger kids also have a disadvantage as they end up relying on their size rather than their ball handling skills

hi for u7 teams what would you say 7 children in a team more than enough? as my sons current coach is trying to add his friends son which would increase it to 8 players. This means my son loses 3 minutes of game time per game....just like to know peoples opinion would you give your childs minutes? or do you think its fair?

I play 4v0 rondos (yeah, no one in the middle yet) with my U9 team. I'm really still focusing on cross-body control and passing, it does take a while with some more than others. I have made it a game though, which group can get the most consecutive touches in 2 minutes time

Hey m8, I think your red circle tag close to the end of the video (11:16) is meant to say Dont Give Up and not Give Up ;)

One way I found to be really useful with the interventions is to give instructions once and try and figure out concise messages (2-4 words!), that you will then use to remind the players during the practice or game. This way you don't have to stop the action, but you can activate their memory and perception skills to focus on the theme we're practicing
